Lost star Naveen Andrews has signed on to film a guest spot on an episode of Law & Order: SVU, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

The details of his role are being kept under wraps for now, but the episode starts filming in the next week or so in New York.

Andrews, 40, plays Sayid Jarrah on ABC's Lost, which is still shooting its final season in Hawaii. (A source tells us they're on Episode 6 of 18.)

Let's not jump to any conclusions though. "As with previous seasons, not all cast members are in every episode," says a studio rep. It's entirely possible that Andrews will finish his SVU gig and return to Hawaii to shoot more Lost. But the timing does at least raise the question: Is Andrews, and thus Sayid, done for the season?

Before Lost, Andrews was best known for playing a sensitive explosives expert who wooed Juliette Binoche in Anthony Minghella's The English Patient.

Andrews' SVU episode will air in January 2010, right around the time that Lost's sixth and final season premieres.

LOST Star Naveen Andrews was in Hollywood this week to perform "Born To Lose" and "Holidays in the Sun" With CAMP FREDDY. Other Guest musicians at the event were: Ozzy Osbourne, Linda Perry, Steve Jones, Juliette Lewis, Naveen Andrews, Chris Vrenna, Mark McGrath and Royston Lang.

It looks like the cast members that attended the Emmy Awards, Michael Emerson, Elizabeth Mitchell, Jorge Garcia, Evangeline Lilly, Daniel Dae Kim plus local LA resident Naveen Andrews were in attendance.

Last week LOST star Naveen Andrews was spotted locally here in Los Angeles with his 16 year old son Jaisal.

No big news, but just something for all of you Naveen fans and I know there are many of you out there.

Last week the Academy for the Emmys released their tentative "short list" for the Best Shows of the season.

Today, we get the official short list for acting and supporting acting categories, with both Naveen Andrews and Micahel Emerson getting recognized while last year's supporting actor Terry O' Quinn was left off the list this year.

This is just the first step to getting nominated and I love both actors. I think Emerson should win, but Andrews was also great this season.

Also getting the short end of the stick, not to mention only two mourners at his small-screen wake, was the 2007 winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama, Lost's Terry O'Quinn.

Picking up the dramatic slack when Locke lost the ball, according to the TV Academy, were future partners in crime Sayid and Ben, meaning Naveen Andrews and Michael Emerson are in fact in the Top 11. (Yes, 11, meaning there's some neck-and-neck action going on.)

Well as the a season finale or premiere approaches one of the biggest questions we ask one another is what do you have planned to watch the the episode. It is also quite a common question that the LOST stars are asked frequently during interviews.

Well on the Season 4 finale night, Naveen Andrews was busy rocking away on a guitar at a Hollywood Club called The Roxy.

How did Lost's Naveen Andrews (pictured) spend his show's season finale night? On stage with Mark McGrath, Dave Navarro, and a host of rock luminaries for the final bow of Camp Freddy Mayhem -- the all-star cover band's month-long residency at Los Angeles' famed Sunset Strip club The Roxy. In its original form, the group includes frontman actor-musician Donovan Leitch, Jane's Addiction's Navarro and Chris Chaney, The Cult's Billy Morrison, and Velvet Revolver's Matt Sorum. Last night, for a cover of the Sex Pistols' "E.M.I.," Andrews (introduced as a member of the Oceanic 6) joined the group on guitar while Sugar Ray singer (and Extra host, lest we forget) McGrath handled the microphone.

But while it was one song and out for Andrews, other guest stars lingered longer, like Juliette Lewis who commanded the stage and channeled singer Exene Cervenka with a song by '80s punk band X, and guitarist Jerry Cantrell, who brought back that warm, fuzzy, early-'90s flannel feeling with "Man in the Box," a classic from his band, Alice in Chains. But the most anticipated (and not the least bit disappointing) moment of the night was the show's closer, Billy Idol. Looking fit in a tight, black T-shirt and sporting a shorter version of the David Cook ’do, he joined The Doors guitarist Robbie Krieger for a well-received spin of "L.A. Woman," then launched into his own hits, "Dancing with Myself" and "Rebel Yell," to deafening cheers. All told, he spent a total of 20 minutes at the club, arriving just in time to hit the stage and leaving under cover of a leather jacket immediately after — like a true rock Idol should.
