LOST Finale Week TV Schedule

UPDATED: New chart posted below

Hey All,
I never really thought this week would actually arrive. It is officially LOST Finale week!

To start the week off right, here is a little schedule or TV guide of cast appearances and more on TV this week.

If there are appearances we missed or made any mistakes please post in comments below.

Thanks to Chuck for this little guide to help you plan accordingly.

NOTE: Beware Episode Titles Are Revealed

BREAKING NEWS: LOST Finale Extended by Extra 30 Mins!

The producers of ABC's hit drama have shot so much crucial material for the show's hugely anticipated finale that the network has agreed to extend the last episode by an extra half hour.

When the "Lost" finale airs on Sunday, May 23rd, the episode will run from 9 to 11:30 p.m. The overrun will air instead of the local news, with the "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost" post-finale special remaining at 11:30 p.m. ABC is expected to announce the plan on tonight's episode of Kimmel.

Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof just completed post-production on the finale -- titled "The End" -- on Monday night. Both sent out identical Tweets: "We're done. Amen."

The supersizing of the finale is the latest adjustment to what might as well be called "The 'Lost' Weekend." ABC is airing an "enhanced" (pop-ups) version of the show's original two-hour pilot on May 22. On Sunday there's a two-hour retrospective titled "Lost: The Final Journey," followed by the finale and Kimmel post-show.

REMINDER: No New LOST Next Week - One Week Break

The new ABC primetime schedule confirms that LOST is taking a break on April 27th, between episode 13 and 14. They are re-airing "Ab Aeterno" instead. This also means that there will be a new episode on May 18th.

LOSTSeries Finale Confirmed for SUNDAY May 23rd

Both Damon and Carlton made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel after the show tonight and while they were on the show they announced that the Series (Season 6) Finale is confirmed for May 23rd!

So mark your calendars now!

Not sure why it is moved to Sunday, but interesting that they picked one of the numbers.

Also, looking at the calendar and if I count right and there are no breaks then there is NO episode for Tuesday May 18th OR there will be a one week break at some point. Maybe May 18th will be a special recap or something else scheduled.

There was a funny moment where Carlton said that John Locke is the Smoke Monster and most of the LA crowd which had not seen the episode yet freaked out because they were spoiled. Oops!

Also Jimmy did a funny little skit where he was a part of LOST again.

LOST Repeats Return but Before New Episodes (UPDATED)

UPDATE: For those that were still skeptical, Carlton Cuse has now confirmed also that there is NO BREAK for the Olympics via his Twitter acct

The new ABC Media Calendar for February is out and it reveals that ABC will be repeating the previous week's episode before every new episode!

So when Episode 6x03 airs, Episode 6x02 (second hour of premiere) will air at 8PM and so on!

So if you want to catch up or missed something or the episode itself you can watch it at 8PM before the new episode at 9PM.

The calendar ALSO confirms no break for the Olympics. We knew that already but just in case any of you still had doubts it is official no break for now.

I assume this is the schedule and plan for the whole season, but ABC has changed things up before.

NOTE: Do not forget tonight is the repeat airing of the Season 5 finale.

Thanks to our friends at Lostzilla for the heads up

MINOR SPOILER WARNING Episode Titles Are Revealed on Screencaps

Season 6 Finale Confirmed for 3 Hours!

Thanks to Sl-Lost for the heads up on this snippet from Carlton about the Season 6 Finale and the fact that it will be 3hrs, split over 2 weeks.

Will 18 hours be enough for the last season? (By the way, Season 6 will consist of a two-hour season premiere, 13 episodes and three-hour series finale that will air over two weeks -- but as Cuse joked, "I’m sure the network will sell it as a six-part finale if they can.") Cuse: "For us, [18 hours] is just about right. I mean, we aren’t sitting here feeling like, 'Oh my God, we need a ton more hours to tell the rest of our story.' It feels like it’s going to work out just fine. It will have been the right length."

This is from Variety:

Will LOST Move to 10PM!?

For the last few years some of the big questions for LOST fans during the off season have been when will it premiere, what day and at what time!? These questions are always there because ABC wants to see how well there new shows do and then slot LOST accordingly.

This years is no different and for the most part LOST has aired 9PM on Wednesday nights, but this year ABC's new comedy shows have been a success.

So is it possible LOST could shift to 10PM on Wednesdays nights or move to a whole new night!? Perhaps ABC will move it's comedies?

Who knows!? Well TV Guide is speculating that LOST will move possibly to 10PM.

Here are the details:

Question: I have been thoroughly enjoying 3/4 of ABC’s Wednesday night comedy block (which, so far, is funnier and more accessible than the 3/4s of NBC’s Thursday night comedy block I watch). My question is this: Where is Lost going to go? For the majority of its run, Lost has been on Wednesdays at 9/8c (except for its freshman year when it aired at 8/7c—which still shocks me—and the year of the writers’ strike when it aired on Thursdays). I can’t imagine ABC pulling its newly established (and relatively successful) comedy in favor of Lost, so in all likelihood, the final season of Lost will be airing in a time slot it has never aired previously. Where do you think it will go?—Erin

Matt Roush: Clearly scheduling the final season of Lost will be no laughing matter. But I agree that it’s not in ABC’s best interests to jettison its new Wednesday comedy block just as it’s building up some steam, critically and some weeks in the ratings. (It’s a tough night, and ABC will need to be patient to see long-term growth; getting rid of Hank would be a good first step.) ABC has not yet announced just how it will schedule Lost in its final season, but wherever it airs, its fans will find it and follow it to the end. This final season isn’t going to be about ratings necessarily; Lost isn’t likely to grow in its final season, although many who’ve fallen to the wayside may tune in toward the end just to see how it wraps up. Which is why I wouldn’t be surprised if ABC puts it in one of the open 10/9c slots where shows currently are performing poorly: Tuesdays or, more likely, Wednesdays. This gets it out of the way of the American Idol juggernaut, and while I’d prefer it to air in a 9/8c time period as it has the last few seasons, I don’t see where there’s an opening. And in the big picture, it’s more important for ABC to continue nurturing its terrific new comedies for the long haul than to worry too much about protecting Lost in its final stretch. Wherever it airs, we’ll be there.

CONFIRMED: Season 6 - Two Hour Premiere and Finale

Hey All,
About over a week ago, my good friend DarkUFO made a post about Season 6 possibly being "18 hours" based on a couple of interviews from Matthew Fox and Director Jack Bender. We also made a note of the interviews and Dark was able to confirm via his ABC sources that it was true after all.

The speculation was that there would be a Two hour premiere and finale totaling the 18 hours of the planned 17 hour season.

Well for those that did not or would not believe it, EW's Ausiello posted a Tweet confirming the same thing!!

So rejoice LOST fans, there will indeed be an extra hour of LOST in Season 6!!

LOST Season 6 Possibly 18 Hours!?

Hey All,
Over the last couple of weeks, we have posted several different interviews by several of the LOST cast and crew including Matthew Fox and Director Jack Bender.

Both of them at some point have mentioned that there are "18 hours left" in the show. Of course most of us knew that there were 17 Episodes left and I assumed that meant the finale was two hours making it 18 hours and not 17.

Well our good friend DarkUFO is reporting that based on a new Matthew Fox interview that there is a possibility that Season 6 will be 16 Episodes with a Two-Hour Premiere and Finale!!

So it seems either way we might be getting an extra hour of LOST in Season 6!!

As soon as we have more information we will keep you all informed.

LOST Season 6 to Possibly Have New Time Slot Again!?

Hey All,
Apparently the initial reports from ABC for their 2009 schedule once again does not have LOST in any specific time slot. This is no surprise as this has happened every year for the last few seasons, because ABC always waits to see how their new shows fair and then pick a time slot for LOST.

However, it seems like the current options according to E! Online, are the show will air in the Wed 9PM time slot or perhaps move to Tuesday nights at 10PM.

Our good friend DarkUFO received a report that it was going to be moved to Thursdays. At this point I do not think many of the fans care we just want to see the 6th and final season now!

Of course, LOST deserves a little more respect I guess and should be given it's own time slot no matter what, but it always comes down to maximizing the profits, so I think we might have to wait a few more months to see how the Fall shows do.

If there is any additional news we will keep you all updated.

Thanks!

April 22nd Clip Show Titled Story of the Oceanic 6

Hey All,
As reported we get another one week break on April 22nd between episode 5x13 and 5x14. I know many of you were not too happy about the first break and well I am sure the second break does not sit too well either.

During the last break we got a repeat, but this time a clip (recap) show is scheduled. Thanks to thedemonhog for the heads up that the official ABC Calendar has the clip show listed on April 22nd and the title as "The Story of the Oceanic 6".

Why is there a break at all?? Well if you click the screencap below you will see that the ratings period aka "Sweeps" begins on April 23rd. So by adding in this one week break, ABC will be able to take advantage of the remaining episodes to fall into the Sweeps period.

Additionally Episode 5x14 is the 100th episode of LOST so I assume ABC will use the extra week to hype up the episode even more.

LOST Finds a New Home in Spain

Hey All,
No LOST is not moving to Spain, but a new network will be broadcasting it in Spain! This post is specifically for the international and Spanish readers in Spain, but also shows how global the show is!!

The great news is that the new network has rights on ALL six Seasons and has scheduled all seasons to air so the Season 6 (Series) Finale can air just weeks after it airs in the US. Of course most will still download it, but it shows how a show like LOST has changed the TV industry.

Here is the full report from Variety:

Terrestrial web Cuatro has bought Spanish free-to-air rights to all six seasons of Lost from pubcaster Radio Television Espanola after the sci-fi suspenser flopped with its older demographic.

Disney-ABC-ESPN worked with RTVE and the younger-skewing Cuatro to find a more appropriate home for Lost.

The sale forms part of our cost-cutting strategy, said an RTVE spokesperson, as local broadcasters react to recession by rationalizing the shows they air.

We're excited to be launching Lost with Cuatro, who are a well-matched home for the series, and have ambitious plans in terms of scheduling, marketing and promotional support, said Francesca Tauriello, Disney-ABC-ESPN TV's senior VP of program distribution in Europe, the Middle East and Asia (South).

Launched November 2005, the Sogecable-owned Cuatro has built its brand on U.S. shows such as House, which, now in its fifth season, punched a 16.6 share and 3.2 million viewers on Tuesday, way above Cuatro's 8.9% channel average for March.

Lost fits very well with our brand, and its finale looks set to be a worldwide TV phenomenon, said Cuatro programming director, Fernando Jerez.

Cuatro will sked all six seasons of Lost so that its 2010 sixth-season finale will air a matter of weeks after the U.S., Jerez said.

LOST on Saturday Nights!?

Hey Losties,
Yup that is right!! With LOST in syndication on several networks including SciFi, G4, and other various local affiliates, it seems like ABC has decided to repeat episodes of LOST on Saturday late at night.

About a week ago I was driving home from work and it looked like a truck in front of me said LOST on it!? I sped up and sure enough it did!! So I pulled out my cell phone and was able to grab this pic!! The image was advertising LOST on Saturday nights!? Of course I was confused for a moment but realized that it was just advertising repeats of LOST on ABC.

So if you are sitting around on a Saturday night at 12:30AM or just want to rewatch some old episodes, make sure you check out ABC or set your TIVOs.

I am not sure if every local ABC affiliate is airing the show, but make sure check out your local listings.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Namaste.

Well we finlly got a confirmation from ABC today that it is indeed Wednesday January 21st at 8PM!!

However, there is more...!! LOST will be on for 3 hours that night!!

Yup we will get the special recap show at 8PM, followed by the first two episodes of Season 5. So we get a two hour premiere!!

I am assuming the regular time slot will then be 9PM, but as soon as that is confirmed we will let you all know.

Sorry for any confusion, but here is the breakdown:

Jan 21st:
8PM - Special Recap
9PM - Episode 5x01
10PM - Episode 5x02

Special thanks to DarkUFO and DocArzt for the clarifications.

Whoa...!!

I guess yesterday's reports were incorrect and ABC has just confirmed that LOST will return on January 21st at 8pm!!

Wow LOST finally returns back to it's original 8PM Wednesday night slot!!

I truly did not expect this move back to 8PM AND Wednesday nights, but I think many of you out there really wanted this move and well it looks like you got it. Now we all get to discuss the episodes all night long!!

NOTE: The actual airtime could be 9PM, because there is a 1 hour recap show scheduled.

Here is a screencap of the official ABC Twitter account:

LOST Returns Jan 21st

Hey Losties,
I know this is still a few months away, but our good friend DarkUFO is reporting LOST will return on Thursday nights at 10PM starting on January 29th. That night also expect a special 1 hour recap show to air at 9PM.

So what do you all think!? LOST will once again benefit from the Grey's Anatomy lead-in and I know many of you were hoping a move back to 9PM. So are you ok with the same time slot from Season 4??

This is NOT official from ABC yet, but if nothing changes I think this is a good time slot for the show.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the new short Season 5 Promo:

LOST Moving Back to Wednesday Nights!?

Hey All,
It seems like our good friend DarkUFO has gotten the scoop that LOST could be moving back to Wednesday nights with the Season 5 Premiere date set for Feb. 4th 2009!!

Here is a poll and the details from Dark:

Just had a little email from one of my contacts at ABC and as it currently stands it looks like Lost will be moving back to Wednesday's with the premiere set to air on Wednesday 4th February 2009. Obviously this could change depending on how other ABC shows fare but for now this is the planned date.

What do you prefer, Wednesday or Thursday?
