Hey All,
It seems like our good friend DarkUFO has gotten the scoop that LOST could be moving back to Wednesday nights with the Season 5 Premiere date set for Feb. 4th 2009!!

Here is a poll and the details from Dark:

Just had a little email from one of my contacts at ABC and as it currently stands it looks like Lost will be moving back to Wednesday's with the premiere set to air on Wednesday 4th February 2009. Obviously this could change depending on how other ABC shows fare but for now this is the planned date.

Yes I know most of you are trying to stay spoiler-free and it is a good thing. Because LOST is at its finest with the elements of surprise at play.

However, today marked the first day of filming for Season 5 of LOST and that means spoilers season is really officially open. Yes, it began a little last week with some casting tidbits, but we have just posted the first Season 5 Set Report with several tidbits...

ABC has officially added one more hour to each of the final two seasons of LOST. Due to the writer's strike, LOST producers were only able to make 14 hours for season 4 when 16 hours were promised (each season). So the final two missing hour will be added to Season 5 and Season 6 for a total of 17 hours each. Most likely they will be for two-hour finales, but no confirmation on that yet.

Here are the details and note there are some MINOR SPOILERS about their plan for this season's cliffhanger comparing it to last year's finale.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - ABC has found more hours for the final two seasons of "Lost." The 2009 and 2010 editions of the hit drama will be 17 hours each -- not 16, as previously planned.

ABC has added two hours to the show's production plan because the Writers Guild of America strike knocked three hours out of the current season. To partly compensate, the network recently added an additional hour to Part 2 of the season finale that airs May 29.

All told, the changes will wrap up the show with the same number of episodes that producers and ABC negotiated last year.

"We were supposed to do 16-16-16," "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof said. "But we ended up doing 14 this season, so we owe two."

Lindelof, however, ruled out the idea that the show might extend beyond the remaining 34-episode order.

"(Executive producer) Carlton Cuse and I worked so hard to get the show to end that I think to suddenly say, 'Oh, I think we've got another season in us' would be a betrayal to everybody involved in the show -- but most of all the audience," he said. "It's better to retire your number at the top of your game."

For the upcoming season finale, Lindelof promised a more action-driven cliffhanger instead of the mind-bending flash-forward time shift that stunned fans last season.

"The finale this year will not be as tricky as last year," he said. "Hopefully, this year it's a little bit more of a straightforward action-adventure narrative. But the ending of the episode will hopefully engage and intrigue people looking forward to the next season of the show."

Lindelof declined to say whether the flash-forwards will continue, but he did leave open the possibility of the show's main story line on the island catching up with the flash-forwards that have taken place on the mainland this season.

"It's very exciting that the audience is going to be wondering when is the present going to be (next season)," he said. "We've moved backward in time, now we've moved forward in time. The present of the show has always been on the island -- that may not necessarily be the case in the future."

When it comes time to air the series finale in 2010, Lindelof said he and Cuse plan to "go into hiding for many, many months" at an "undisclosed location."

"David Chase set a great example when he went off to Paris after 'The Sopranos' ending, which is great because all these people are going to be asking, 'What does it mean? What is it?'" he said. "The fact that there's no one really around to answer that question, it forces people to come up with what they think it means. We can guarantee our show will not end with a cut to black, it will be more clear than that. But whenever anything you love ends ... there's a certain disappointment."

With the writer's strike ending, there was much speculation about the schedule for Season 4 of LOST.

ABC has finally released the official schedule and it stays with episode 8 being aired as scheduled with the first batch of episodes followed by a break with the season ending with 5 new episodes starting April 24th.

Hey All,
Before I start I want to thank my good friend DarkUFO for giving me an opportunity to once again represent his site and myself with this interview and also Kevin and Cabin at the Shannon Burke show for the platform to be able to talk LOST.

Now for those of you that listened to the show, know that the interview lasted two segments again and we covered a wide variety of items, beginning with a little update about S4 production and then we got right into it and talked about various things that happened in last night's episode (Episode 4x04 Eggtown). We covered the Aaron reveal, the Ben/Miles conversation and a little about Daniel and Charlotte with the cards.

We continued talking about various elements of the show including the Oceanic 6, about Ben Off-Island, the coffin in the S3 finale and then at the beginning of the second segment we talked briefly about the new LOST Video Game, which was followed by fan questions and we ended the show with some spoilers and a review of episode 5.

NOTE The spoilers are at the VERY end of Clip 2 and we warn you at the 12: 30 mark when they start. So spoiler haters feel free to listen to the rest of the interview, but just be aware of the 12:30 mark.

Hey All,
Sorry for the delay in this week's podcast, but my partner in crime Ronald was sick and lost his voice, so we were trying to wait as long as possible to see if he was able to get better, but unfortunately his voice was still not 100%. Sooo this week you all get me in a solo podcast and it is a little shorter.

I know it is not as entertaining without the interaction with Ronald, but I still wanted to provide you all with a quick recap of Episode 4x03 The Economist because it was such a great episode and had a wonderful ending with the reveal of Ben being Sayid's boss.

Plus, I wanted to provide you all with a little Season 4 Production and Schedule update and mention the Radio Interview I will be conduction on the Shannon Burke Show Friday morning at 10AM PST.

Also, as always there is a little preview of this week's episode. The preview for Episode 4x04 does contains some spoilers and they begin at about the 2 minute mark of Clip 3.

Thanks to LyLy@DarkUFO who found a post by Jorge Garcia (Hurley) on The Fuselage site that confirms production for Season 4 of LOST will begin once again on March 10th.

So for all you spoiler lovers we will hopefully be able to get some new information and some filming updates by Mid-March.

Here is an article from Kristin at E! Online who has spoken with some of her ABC contacts to get us some dates and schedule for the final 6 episodes of Season 4.

As we already know, the writers said Episode 8 will be moved back and added to the new 5 episodes to make a total of 6 episodes to end the season.

So basically we get 5 more episodes (3-7) ending on March 13th and the next 6 (8-13) will air beginning on April 24th at 10PM after Grey's Anatomy.

So start planning your schedules now.

Here are the full details:

Lost is back! Oh, wait, that happened two weeks ago.

What I mean is, Lost will be back-back, after the strike. And even better, we've just checked in with inside sources, and we have dates! Yes, dates! So, break out your calendars, 'cause we're hearing this is the approved plan:

The last episode of the current pod (episode seven) will air Mar. 13. Then the show will be off the air for six weeks and return Apr. 24 at 9 p.m.

(That Apr. 24 episode will be the already-completed episode eight, which was filmed prestrike, but which apparently works much better as a minipremiere than it does as a minifinale.)

Anyhoo, the following week, on Thurs., May 1, a little show called Grey's Anatomy returns to its usual 9 p.m. time slot, so Lost will move to 10 p.m., where it will stay for the rest of the season.

"Yippee" just doesn't do it justice, does it?

To find out what this all means for the season-four story, I checked in with my personal Jesus, Damon Lindelof, who explains how his writing team plans to squish the eight episodes of plot they had planned into only five more episodes.

"We are going to execute our full story plan for season four," D.L. says. "This simply requires a shift from high-octane storytelling to superhigh-octane storytelling. It requires no cramming, only a slightly heavier foot on the gas pedal...so, hold on to your hats. Those of you waiting for the long-anticipated Jin and Hurley Ping-Pong tournament, however, will be very disappointed."

Wow with the strike ending we have had some really big shuffling and conflicting reports about the LOST schedule and what will be produced for Season 4.

This latest report claims that episode 8 will be added to the 5 new episodes and that LOST will air AFTER Grey's Anatomy moving LOST back to the 10PM slot...!?

I am not sure how you all feel about all this, yes I am thankful that we are getting more episodes and writer's strikes do not happen all the time, but WTF...please pick one thing and just confirm what it is.

I know ABC is trying to maximize their revenues on Thursday nights, but changing the LOST time slot again back to 10PM will definitely affect the ratings.

Well here are the details and we will keep you all up to speed as soon as any thing else is reported.

NOTE: In other reports the 3 "LOST" S4 episodes will be added into the final two seasons some where.

The writers' strike may end up being the best thing that ever happened to Lost.

ABC is said to be finalizing a post-strike spring schedule that not only hands Lost its best available time slot, but promises to further strengthen the network's stronghold on Thursday night.

According to multiple sources, ABC plans on airing this season's final five* Lost episodes on Thursdays at 10 pm/ET beginning in late April, where it will follow all-new episodes of Grey's freakin' Anatomy! Throw in fresh installments of Ugly Betty at 8 pm and you've got yourself the most formidable one-two-three punch since the early days of CBS' Survivor/CSI/Without a Trace smashup. Creatively speaking, I'd go so far as to say this rivals NBC's storied Must-See-TV juggernaut back in the '90s.

And I haven't even gotten to the best part.

The best part is that I'm hearing that ABC is strongly considering keeping this dream lineup intact this fall... and beyond.

I don't know about you, but this almost makes up for ABC's mishandling of [insert any number of show titles here].

* This just in: I'm now hearing that Lost's final arc may consist of six episodes, not five. No, Team Darlton isn't making an extra episode this season. Rather, the final installment of the current run (aka Episode 8) will likely be held to kick off the final batch of five. According to my spies, Episode 7 makes for a better, more logical, break. Discuss....

Here is another quote by Carlton Cuse Producer/Writer of LOST on ABC about the 5 additional episodes and stating the balance of the 3 episodes will be rolled into Season 5.

I think the key to the quote is about "accelerating" the storyline. I trust the LOST writers, but I just hate to see the show potentially be affected because they had to "accelerate" a plot point to fit it into the TV Schedule. I guess it all depends on what "accelerate" means.

If it means getting rid of some "fluff" to get to the point quicker, then so be it.

"we're looking at trying to make five more" episodes beyond the eight already completed, says executive producer Carlton Cuse. The original plan was to film 16, but the remaining three will be rolled into next season. Cuse says writers will "accelerate our storytelling" to get to the end point they had already mapped out for this season. "It's a little bit like driving cross country to Boston. If the goal is to get there two days earlier, we will have to take more interstates and fewer rural byways."

So with several different production updates through out the day and the potential good news of all of the remaining 8 episodes of Season 4 of LOST to be completed we get word that Carlton Cuse hase confirmed that Season 4 will have a maximum of 13 episodes..!?

Also, in what seems like even worse news is that TPTB are planing to finish S4 as originally planned meaning the 16 episode storyline will be condensed into 13 episodes...!? Not sure if that means we will get the additional 3 episodes in Season 5 or they will be scrapped...!?

Well here are the details and we will keep you posted with any of the latest news.

Carlton Cuse has spoken. Cuse, the co-show runner of Lost with writing partner Damon Lindelof, talked to The Hollywood Reporter and announced their plans for the remainder of Lost's fourth season. Cuse and Lindelof are heading back into production with the hope of completing five more episodes. There are eight episodes finished, and five additional would take the season 4 total to thirteen, one less than previously reported on BuddyTV and elsewhere. Granted, this is Cuse and Lindelof's goal – it is possible that they won't get the five extra their hoping for finished. But, in possibly bigger news, Cuse said that they will end season 4 how they originally planned, which means that the season 4 story arc will have to be condensed.

For a show like Lost, losing three episodes means losing a ton of room for story telling. Lost is plot-heavy and given how far in advance the series arc has to be planned out, condensing eight episodes worth of story into five episodes is going to be a tall task. As we've seen in the first two episodes of season 4, the plot has moved fast and furiously. This was the beauty of Lost's prescribed season 6 end date – the writers no longer had to stall.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Obviously, this is going to make those final five (or four, or three) season four episodes riveting television, but I worry how this might negatively effect the future of the series. I had assumed that Lost would attempt to make up their strike-sacrificed episodes in season five and/or season 6, but now that doesn't look to be the case. With Cuse proclaiming that the season 4 story will end as originally prescribed, I think we have to then assume that they have no intention of making up the lost (pun intended) episodes in the future. Selfishly, I don't want to be shorted three episodes of my favorite TV show.
