Evangeline Lilly Says She Prefers Being Alone

Evangeline Lilly Says She Prefers Being Alone

Evangeline Lilly has revealed she struggles in relationships - as she enjoys being alone.

The 30-year-old actress - who plays Kate in hit drama Lost - did date her co-star Dominic Monaghan but revealed she can't imagine herself getting married.

Evangeline said: "It's a real struggle for me - I am very independent and I do very well on my own."

She added: "I don't get lonely, really. I like to be alone. Some people have to focus to make themselves spend time on their own, but I'm okay with that. I'm the opposite. I'm always alone and I love it."

But Evangeline revealed: "It's been my goal to socialise more this year because I am such a geek and I thought I should try to do a bit better with my socialising skills. I'm the ultimate geek when it comes to socialising."

Kate is adoptive mother to Aaron in season five of Lost - which is out now on DVD - and Evangeline revealed she has thought about adopting herself.

She said: "For a very long time, I have had intentions to adopt. We have a huge population problem on earth. I have always wanted to have a child of my own and I will always want to go through the gift that women have been given to experience that, so I hope to be a mother at some point. I think I can allow myself one child - and from then on, I think I would have to adopt."

Henry Ian Cusick Settles Harassment Case

Thanks to Doyousmellcarrots for the heads up.

Ay, brother -- Henry Ian Cusick is off the hook.

Cusick -- who plays Desmond Hume on "Lost" -- has settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with a former production staffer who sued him back in April for allegedly grabbing and touching her inappropriately.

The woman sued Cusick, ABC and a Hawaiian production company. Her lawyer tells us she has settled with all the defendants and the terms are confidential.

Lost on The Colbert Report

Thanks to Marco for the following.

I’ve found a possible media mention in yesterday’s Colbert Report. After the first commercial break there was a sequence where they showed a job application letter. The name on it was “Jim LeFleur” (not LaFleur) from Portland. It’s nothing big, but I thought I’ll give you a heads up. I made a quick screenshot of the application letter mentioned and I now noticed some of the Lost numbers under the name.

Will LOST Move to 10PM!?

For the last few years some of the big questions for LOST fans during the off season have been when will it premiere, what day and at what time!? These questions are always there because ABC wants to see how well there new shows do and then slot LOST accordingly.

This years is no different and for the most part LOST has aired 9PM on Wednesday nights, but this year ABC's new comedy shows have been a success.

So is it possible LOST could shift to 10PM on Wednesdays nights or move to a whole new night!? Perhaps ABC will move it's comedies?

Who knows!? Well TV Guide is speculating that LOST will move possibly to 10PM.

Here are the details:

Question: I have been thoroughly enjoying 3/4 of ABC’s Wednesday night comedy block (which, so far, is funnier and more accessible than the 3/4s of NBC’s Thursday night comedy block I watch). My question is this: Where is Lost going to go? For the majority of its run, Lost has been on Wednesdays at 9/8c (except for its freshman year when it aired at 8/7c—which still shocks me—and the year of the writers’ strike when it aired on Thursdays). I can’t imagine ABC pulling its newly established (and relatively successful) comedy in favor of Lost, so in all likelihood, the final season of Lost will be airing in a time slot it has never aired previously. Where do you think it will go?—Erin

Matt Roush: Clearly scheduling the final season of Lost will be no laughing matter. But I agree that it’s not in ABC’s best interests to jettison its new Wednesday comedy block just as it’s building up some steam, critically and some weeks in the ratings. (It’s a tough night, and ABC will need to be patient to see long-term growth; getting rid of Hank would be a good first step.) ABC has not yet announced just how it will schedule Lost in its final season, but wherever it airs, its fans will find it and follow it to the end. This final season isn’t going to be about ratings necessarily; Lost isn’t likely to grow in its final season, although many who’ve fallen to the wayside may tune in toward the end just to see how it wraps up. Which is why I wouldn’t be surprised if ABC puts it in one of the open 10/9c slots where shows currently are performing poorly: Tuesdays or, more likely, Wednesdays. This gets it out of the way of the American Idol juggernaut, and while I’d prefer it to air in a 9/8c time period as it has the last few seasons, I don’t see where there’s an opening. And in the big picture, it’s more important for ABC to continue nurturing its terrific new comedies for the long haul than to worry too much about protecting Lost in its final stretch. Wherever it airs, we’ll be there.

Dominic Monaghan Talks About LOST Series Finale

Dominic Monaghan Talks About LOST Series Finale

Dominic Monaghan has revealed that he will "definitely be tuning in" for the final season of Lost.

The 32-year-old actor, who played Charlie Pace on the ABC cult series, also said that he knows a few details on how the series ends.

"I know little bits and pieces about the final season, but I'm still going to watch it," he said. "It's event television, so I'll definitely be tuning in."

Asked about the comparisons between Lost and his new series FlashForward, Monaghan claimed that there are "distinct differences" between the shows.

"Well, there are obvious similarities because both Lost and FlashForward include a large ensemble cast, a very ambitious storyline and a very easy way to sell the show internationally because it's based on an event that happens worldwide," he said.

"Both include mystery, drama and suspense - but at the same time, I think there are distinct differences. I think FlashForward is a show that is probably not as sophisticated in that deeply-rich mythology as Lost is.

"However, I would not like to call FlashForward ‘simplistic’ in any way."

Cuse Says LOST Will Take a Break for Winter Olympics!?

Well another Season of LOST is nearing and once again we were promised a season with no interruptions, but it seems like we will be given a break early in the season because of the Winter Olympics.

I know most of you are not too happy to read this but I had a feeling this would happen.

Where did this info come from!? Straight from LOST writer Carlton Cuse who visited Harvard this past week and here is a statement from the Art Blog at Harvard:

Mr. Cuse graciously explained that the show would begin again in January then stop for the Olympics and then start back again in February.

The Olympics start Feb 12th 2010 and end Feb 28th, so expect at least a TWO WEEK break. Problem is they pretty much have no choice because if they do not take a break the ratings for those couple of episodes could take a big hit.

Please do not get too upset yet, because we have no official confirmation from ABC yet and we will definitely check with our sources and let you know anything we hear.

Tell us What Shows to Cover and Win an iTunes Gift Card

As many of you know, one day LOST and Heroes will end and so the goal with the TV Spoilers page was to be able to still provide you all with the same great spoilers and news coverage for your other favorite shows.

Yes we are considering to potentially make a stand alone page for other shows and/or even a podcast, but for now we have decided to post all spoilers for other shows in the TV Spoilers Section of the site.

To see what shows we cover already just use the Drop Down Menu on the top of the site. There are numbers after each show and that is how many posts per show, so a show with a higher number means we are already covering it! :)

So please submit up to 3 other shows you would like us to cover on a regular basis by using the submit button at the top of the page.

Based on the submissions that are sent in, the top 2 shows with the most submissions will be added to the site. If you pick one of the winning shows you will be entered into a drawing for $25 iTunes gift card!! So not only will your show be covered by the site but you also have a chance to win a gift card!!

There are ONLY two requirements to have a chance to win the gift card.

Evangeline Lilly says LOST is Beyond Her

Evangeline Lilly has said that she would never be able to pen a show like Lost.

The actress, who has starred as the show's Kate Austen since the start of the series, told Stylist that she will pursue writing after the end of Lost's sixth and final season.

Lilly said: "Writing is my first passion. I can't stop it. I write all the time so I want to either publish something I have written or sell a film script."

When asked if she will write something like Lost, she replied: "Never in a million years! I am so not a sci-fi nut or buff in any way and this show is so beyond me, I couldn't fathom a show like this.

"But I'll write anything. If one day a TV series comes into my head and that is what I want to write, I'll write it. It just depends what story is in my brain at the time."

Earlier this year, Lilly's agent denied reports that the actress would leave the show before its conclusion next year.

New Henry Ian Cusick Interview

Hey All,
Our good friend Elena who runs the awesome Spanish LOST Website Lostzilla.net is in Oahu for a few days and was able to score an interview with fan favorite Henry Ian Cusick aka Desmond!

Here is the interview and you can hear the Spanish audio at Lostzilla. Also, it is translated from Spanish, so if there are any typos we apologize

NOTE: Minor spoilers about S6 and if Desmond will appear.

When the show's over, will you still be living in Hawaii?

Yes. (Laughs). Yes, I'm going to live here because my kids are in school, and we will live here. I came from England directly to Hawaii, and I don't want to go back there. If I left Hawaii, I'd have to move... maybe to LA, and I don't have a home there, I have nothing there. My life is here, I love it here. Then I can't ask you what will you miss when you leave...

Ask me, anyway!

What would you miss if you left?

The beach... the lifestyle... It's very slow, I like it. You can do a lot of sports. I go to the beach almost daily, I'm swimming or doing something outside. Here I've been more outdoors that I have ever been in my life. I'm always swimming, running, doing something. I have played more football now than in my whole life.

If the show could only solve one mystery, which one would you chose?

Just one? Well, it's got to be the island, no? What the island is. And why does it have those powers.

You don't know anything about season 6, right?

No, really. Well, a little, but...

Any big surprises, even if you can't tell us which ones?

Yeah. It starts out as it finishes. More or less.

Your favorite scene on the show?

That's a good question... My favorite scene... I don't know...

Or favorite episode.

Yeah, the season two finale. It's my favourite because it was when I arrived to Hawaii to do a big episode for me and I knew I was going to be a regular character, and I was happy. It was a fantastic time for me.

Fan's favorite episode is The Constant.

Well... Well. (laughs).

What's the funniest thing that's ever happened to you while filming?

Wow... the funniest thing that's happened to me? I hate those kind of questions. I never remember jokes, I don't remember funny stories... I'd be horrible in an interview!

Best and worst part of having been in Lost?

The best for me, working in a show like Lost. It's a dream. I had always wanted to work here, in the States, and working in something this great is just wonderful and there's not much that's bad, really.

How would you like Desmond to end?

I don't know... I don't mind. If he dies, it's okay. If he doesn't, it's okay too. I'd like that he did something important, not just being there. There's a storyline in sixth season..

Do you already have an script with Desmond in it?
Yes.

Episode number...?

I can't tell you that. (He says it while showing us a finger wit the episode number, but I can't say it yet ;) Hence the laughter ).

What's your favorite location on the island?

I think it's Police Beach. North Haleiwa. Where the beachcamp is. I like that place, it was my first time on the set, it was a happy time, and we could see whales. It was fun.

Have you ever thought about directing or writing?

Yeah, I'm directing a shortfilm now, here in Hawaii, 30 minutes. It's called The Protector. Two actors, one man and one woman.

Will we be able to see it?

Only if it's good. If it's not...

What's the last movie you've seen?

The last movie I've seen... I saw one the other night. It's called Waltz with Bashir. It's an animation film.. It's very good. It's about the Lebanon war. Very fascinating. Very moving.

Classic question: if you were on a deserted island, what movie, book and CD would you take with you?

I have to think about that for a week! Off the top of my head... a movie... something uplifting, a comedy... Life of Brian. No. It's hard. Book... would be "How to survive on a deserted island". And music... The Pixies. Off the top of my head. But if I had more time, I'd give you a full list. The movie one is a good question, it's hard.

After Lost, what projects do you have?

Nothing. When it's over in March or April, nothing. I'll searching for a job.

Would you like to work in Spain?

Yes, I'd love to. I must learn spanish. I'd love to work in Spain, I'd love to work in Europe. I have never worked there and I'd love to work in european cinema.

What other TV shows do you watch?

Breaking Bad. Not much more, I don't watch TV, I see more movies than watch TV. But I like Breaking Bad very much.

If you could be any other character in any other TV show, which one would you choose?

Breaking Bad. (Laughs). I don't know. True Blood. You don't like it? It's good. It's interesting. Generation Kill. Have you seen it? But True Blood is good, it's fun.

If you were not an actor, what would you do?

I think right now I'd do something sport-related... Physical education, something outdoors.

The last question... If you had to recommend us somewhere to travel to, where would it be?

Hawaii. I don't think there's anywhere as beautiful as Hawaii. Scotland, Perú, Machu Pichu... Hawaii.

LOST Season 6 Promo Poster Glyphs Decoded!!

Thanks to Erin from Popular Mechanics for sending this over.

A new poster promoting Lost's sixth and final season recently surfaced on the Internet—and in addition to a line up of the cast, both past and present, it contains some hieroglyphics to consider. PM sent the poster to Dr. James Allen, Wilbour Professor of Egyptology and Chair of Egyptology and Ancient Western Asian Studies at Brown University—the man who gave the first indication that the mysterious four-toed statue was not Anubis, as many had assumed, but Taweret, the half-hippo, half-croc Egyptian goddess who protected mothers and infants. Allen had this to say about the poster: "The hieroglyphs spell out two Egyptian words, meaning 'Who is the guide?' or 'Who is the leader?'" We'll leave the interpretation of that up to you.

One Fan's Experience Meeting Damon Lindelof

Outside of how AWESOME the LOST community is and all the people I have met, the writers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are truly two amazing and down to earth guys. They are super cool, nice and approachable.

Here is another example of what I am talking about. Paul who runs the LOST Blog Room 23 had an opportunity to meet one on one with Damon Lindelof at Earth2Comics where Damon made an appearance yesterday.

Here is a small portion of Paul's experience and details about the TWO LOST related questions he asked him. The first tidbit was about Libby's storyline and the other was whether there would be a LOST Encyclopedia release after the show ended.

NOTE: There are some MINOR spoilers about Libby below.

Enjoy and thanks to Paul for sending this over!

One Fan's Experience Meeting with Damon Lindelof at Earth2Comics

As I mentioned before I was the first one to be able to visit with him, I say visit, because rather then this being a rush you through sign the book type of thing, we were allowed to hang out with him and talk for a few minutes. I told him how much I loved Lost and he asked me if the Flame was my favorite station since I had "The Flame" patch on my Jumpsuit and I told him yes. I then gave him a copy on my new Lost sketchbook and a set of Lost Trading cards. (which I'm working on a Room 23 store to sell these things) He liked my Richard design and said that he recognized my Hurley drawing from Google and asked me for my business card, which I gave him a Room 23 and personal Portfolio one and he also made a point to ask me for my e-mail. (What for I'm not sure) But it was cool that someone that I admire and admire his work liked mine and wanted my contact info. He also told me that he recognized Room 23.

I told him that I knew that he was probably sick of getting this question and that he had said that Libby's story was over. So I asked him what was originally planned for Libby's story before she got killed. He repeated whats been said before about hold Cyntha Watros didn't have interest in returning and that they didn't want to tell her story unless they could do it in the right way. But that hes hearing very faint rumblings that she might be starting to change her mind. Which would fit with a spoiler that I've been hearing lately. But he promised me that if by the end of the series they never got to Libby's story on the show that I could hunt him down and that he would answer my question definitively.

Then I brought up about how J.K. Rowling had mentioned eventually doing a Harry Potter Encyclopedia and asked if Lost would ever do a DK book or Encyclopedia. He told me that just between you, me and the comic book store (and he said this knowing that I run Room 23) that they did have plans for a possible Lost authoritative book with a release a few years after the show ended with show bibles included as part of the book!

He signed my book with this message. "Paul, Here's to the Flame! Thanks for your massive fandom!" Damon Lindelof

Oceanic Airlines to Appear in Desperate Housewives

Well if you are a regular reader of the blog you will know I love seeing when there are references or EEs of LOST in other shows, video games, and other media. LOST references are hidden all over the place and ABC has been putting LOST EEs in several of it's shows as a form of cross promotion.

This time around it will be on Desperate Housewives.

NOTE: SPOILERS for Desperate Housewives below

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a ratings stunt!

Marc Cherry has confirmed that a plane is going to come crashing down on Desperate Housewives' Wisteria Lane this season, for the show's midseason cliffhanger.

And now ABC sources are spilling this cool little nugget of info: The plane might end up being none other than one from Lost's Oceanic Airlines.

So wait a minute, does that mean that if/when Lost resets this season with an alternate reality (if that hydrogen bomb did actually go off), Jack, Kate, Sawyer and the gang could crash on Wisteria Lane instead of the island?
Sorry, no such luck, Susan Mayer. Jack Shepard will not be dipping his ladle in your special sauce...

The plane's Oceanic branding would just be a fun little Easter egg for Lost fans to find. And while the crossover has yet to be finalized, I'm told the higher-ups at ABC are keen on the idea.

Ben Wins Best LOST Villain and is Featured on New Magazine

Since being introduced in Season 2 Michael Emerson has been purely genius in his portrayal of Ben the "leader" of the Others. He has been one of my favorite actors and characters on the show since then and I am so glad he has survived on the show.

Here is the recent LOST Magazine Cover and a little story about him winning for Best LOST Bad Guy.

Thanks to Ricky for the heads up!

Enjoy!

Check out Titan Magaazine's LOST Page for more details and a Sneak Peek at the Exclusive Sawyer Cover for Issue 25.

Ben Linus wins best Lost Bad Guy

Readers of Totalscifionline.com and Lost Magazine have voted Ben Linus as the show’s top Bad Guy.

The shadowy character, played by the Emmy award-winning Michael Emerson, was first introduced in season two, when he initially pretended to have been stranded on the island after his hot air balloon crashed.

However, Ben was soon revealed to be the leader of the Others, and his later evil deeds included kidnapping Jack, Sawyer and Kate, attempting to kill Penelope, and killing Locke. But, of course, the distinction between heroes and villains is never clear-cut on Lost, and there are times when Ben seems almost sympathetic, particularly when we see his childhood in season five.

Ethan and Charles Widmore received the second and third amount of votes, while there were also votes for Juliet, Sawyer, Locke, Jack and er, Vincent the dog.

The new villains-themed issue of Titan Publishing’s official Lost Magazine is released on 13 October 2009 (US) and 29 October 2009 (UK).

Wow, of course for the folks that do not like spoilers this is great news, but for most of the fans that love promos and spoilers this is terrible news! It will of course just make us want it more but wow.

I guess we will have to take all the wonderful spoilers we have and just piece it all together ourselves!

What do you think!? Love it or hate it!?

Henry Ian Cusick interview with TV Guide Magazine

Thanks to SL-Lost for the heads up.

Look who’s playing Charles Darwin, brotha! It’s Lost’s Most Valuable Scotsman, Henry Ian Cusick, who’s doing an ultraproper English accent and donning 19th-century garb (think puffy shirts and high-waisted trousers) for the role of history’s most famous naturalist. Cusick tells TV Guide Magazine about the NOVA bio-drama "Darwin's Darkest Hour," which premieres Tuesday, October 6 on PBS (check local listings). And, of course, we couldn’t let the opportunity go by without asking about the final season of Lost.

What in particular attracted you to playing Darwin?
Having saw pictures of him, I thought, “Wow, wouldn’t it be cool to transform myself into this character?” But unfortunately we didn’t go with the receding-balding look. [Laughs] It was just a fascinating script and as an actor I wanted to challenge myself.

How much research was required for the role?
As soon as I found out I was doing it I went on the Internet to find out as much as I could about him—what he looked like, his early life, and I started reading The Origin of Species. It was sort of a crash course on Darwin and his life.

Playing the controversial scientist as he faces the possibility that his life’s work may have been for nothing if another scholar publishes his nearly identical theories first takes a heavy toll on Darwin in the movie—as do the personal tragedies he endures, including the loss of two young children…
That was the attraction of the script. There’s a lot of theory and science in it, but you get to find out a lot about the man and his life. He lost two children very early on. I have children—it’s every parent’s worst nightmare! From the human side it was nice to be able to show a complete man rather than just the science bit, and hopefully that will make him more interesting. He has got a fascinating life. It’s something I’m proud of.

And there is a great love story between Charles and his deeply religious wife Emma, played by Frances O’Connor…
They had 10 kids; so, even though you wouldn’t have thought the Victorians were passionate…to have 10 kids you have to be pretty passionate! They were also first cousins, which was a worry to Darwin, because he thought that’s why his children were [sickly]. She was his rock. They had a very unconventional relationship—they were quite modern. Working with France O’Conner…she’s wonderful, she’s an absolute fantastic actress [and] I had a lot of fun working with her.

Did any of Darwin’s genius rub off on you?
[Laughs] Unfortunately, no. I’ve just become more educated about Darwin.

That’s too bad, because it would take a genius to figure out what’s going on in Lost! Production has begun in Hawaii, are you privy to what’s happening in the season premiere?
I’ve read scripts for up to Episode 3. It sort of picks up, as always, where it left off, but then it jumps all over the place. We get very excited to pick up the scripts and read them and they’re still as confusing and baffling as ever. [Laughs] We’re still going, “What the hell is going on now?”

Is it a different atmosphere on set now that it’s the last season?
Most of the [cast] are making plans to move back to the mainland. I think there are only a couple people contemplating staying in Hawaii. I’m thinking about staying in Hawaii. My children are in school and to pull them out now would be tricky. We really love life here. One of the best things about Lost is I got to live in Hawaii.

With Sonya Walger, who plays Penny, on FlashForward, does that mean there will be even less of Desmond and Penny this season?
I really don’t know what’s going to happen with Penny. And, to be honest, I don’t know what’s going to happen with Desmond either. Are we going to see less of him than last season? I hope not, because we didn’t see much of him and there are a lot of things I’d like to know about him. I think Desmond’s character has become more of a peripheral character. I think now we are zooming to the end and there are a lot of questions that need to be answered…

Do you have a favorite Desmond and Penny scene?
I guess their first meeting—that was kind of fun when she and Desmond are packing up the crates in the monastery. I like that scene.

What Lost mystery do you want solved?
What is the Island and why the Island—that’s the essence of the show. And then there are a thousand little strings we probably won’t get answers to, but I guess that’s life and you can make up your own stuff, so the conversations will go on and on and on.

What’s next, after Lost is done filming?
Nothing at all, so I better start looking.

NBC Wins Bidding War for JJ Abrams New Spy Drama (UPDATE)

UPDATE: TV Guide is now reporting NBC has won the bidding war for the new show.

JJ Abrams New Spy Drama Creates a Bidding War

A bidding war is raging over a drama spec script backed by J.J. Abrams.

ABC, CBS and NBC are in pursuit of the hot script by writer Josh Reims who first worked with Abrams on his WB series "Felicity."

The project, from Bad Robot and Warner Bros. TV, centers on two spies working together who are also husband and wife.

The show, whose premise is somewhat reminiscent of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," sparked a bidding war the moment it hit the marketplace last week, with ABC, NBC and CBS jockeying up for the lead position.

According to sources, ABC and NBC now appear ahead in the negotiations to land the script.

The untitled project brings Abrams back into the spy arena that he mined with his ABC series "Alias."

Abrams, co-creator/executive producer of Fox’s sci-fi drama series “Fringe,” got a presentation order from Fox earlier this month for a half-hour project written by Mike Markowitz.
